It’s a new year. 2012. The most exciting thing about this year so far is the end of the world. Or at the very least the end of the Mayan Calendar. ; )

I remember New Years 2000 and the whole scare over it. Will the computers reset? Should we stock up on water and canned food? What’s going to happen to us? Are cows Y2K compliant? Ok the cows thing is an inside joke. Has to do with cows milk just turning sour all of a sudden. Good thing I’ll never have to worry about that. Thank you Vegan diet.

Oh my god, I’m been vegan for a year now!! Crazy. I’m so good at it too. I’ll have to keep up my good work.

Anyways back to The end of the world.

I’m not a believer in any of the “theories”. But my most favored is that humanity will reach a spiritual enlightenment. Here’s hoping. Kevbot believes that the Sun will just be changing and send out like a solar flare thingy and knock out our satellites and communications devices. Also probable since the sun apparently every little while or so does this and we didn’t have the satellites we have now, at the time of the last flare. I guess we’ll see 

But my Theory is I will wake up the next day and still have to drag my tired a$$ into work.

So how was your holidays? Mine were filled with good friends and family, and alcohol. Ugh. So much that New years eve I didn’t drink, except a glass and a half of Champaign.

And for Santa day I got a cool spider lamp, which will provide me with lots of awesome light for reading. All 8 Harry Potter movies on Blu-ray. Alice for the PS3. Lots of undies, come other clothes. Awesome Flannel Pajamas. And a whole slew of other goodies.

Oh and lucky me, the day before Santa came. I won a front load washer and dryer by Kenmore, which I have no room for. Thus, I am given them to my mom as her gift. She’s pretty happy about that. The mall had people wrapping gifts for donations to a local boys and Girls club and so I donated, and bought a couple raffle tickets as well. Well what do you know, I’m a winner.

We’ll my mommy is the winner now. But it was my name drawn.

How did you spend your end of the year? Any resolutions for this new year?

 To pay off all Debt

 And to work harder at being at ease. Physically and spiritually.

Hrmm what else? OH yea.

I got a new tattoo. Yesterday. Leonardo Da Vinci’s ‘The Virtruvian Man’. Under my arm. Behind my goddess tattoo. When he’s all healed up I’ll be sure to post a picture of him.

So another Samahin has come and gone. Kevbot and I had a "2nd Annual" halloween costume party in celebration. Again it was quite intimate and I really enjoyed seeing everyone dressed up. We had everything from a Dr.Who entourage consisting of The Doctor, The Tardis, Rory the roman Williams and Amy Pond as well a weeping angel. There were vampires, little red riding hood to, some strange characters and even a Rabi. I'm pretty sure everyone had a great time.
Sadly I got only 7 tricker treaters this year. We live beside a Highway and its very dark and out of the way. One day I hope to live in a place where I get to see lots of kiddies all dressed up.

I think next year we will be going to Salem Mass for Samhain. I really look forward to it. I can only imagine some of the celebrations that go on there. We'll see. I'll be sure to take photos though and add the blog. I'll still have a Halloween party here as well though. Probably The weekend before. I guess we'll see when the time comes.

Oh and the winner of our "Best Costume" award, went to the Tardis. Who was actually my brother in a refrigerator box. I'm proud though, since I painted it and made it into a Tardis. :)

On my quest to become more at ease and at peace with myself and my surroundings, I’ve discovered Buddha. Well I discovered his teachings; naturally I already knew who Buddha is. You can’t miss him as he is on the shelves in the dollar store and in many businesses and dwellings everywhere. I can't claim I'm a Buddhist now, however I will be incorporating Buddhist practices into my everyday life for now on.

I actually just finished a book called ‘The Heart of the Revolution. The Buddha’s radical teachings of forgiveness, compassion and kindness’ By Noah Levine. I have to say I was half expecting it to be very dry. As I’ve tried reading up on Buddhism before and then became deterred by the weird words and perplexing explanations . This book however caught my attention. It’s got a real pretty cover ;) and I’m very superficial at times. Also the author kind of reminds me of me. All tattoo’d up and searching for something more.

I would strongly suggest this book to others looking to check out Buddhism, but struggling with the dry reads. Noah Levine has a couple other books out as well that I'm looking to get my hands on. I’ll have to order them though because I've checked and none of the Kingston Book shops have them. Oddly the copy of Heart of the revolution was the only title on the shelf by the author and the only copy as well. Well ha! Now it’s mine, all mine.

During the reading I was introduced to the Metta Sutta… Basically The Buddhas words of kindness. Its like a prayer almost, or a set of rules to conduct yourself by.

I just thought I’d share the Metta Sutta with you this evening. I’ve also posted it down the left hand side of my blog site for anyone who wants to reference it and forgets which post it was on.

Anyways without further adooooooooooooo, the Metta Sutta as told by Buddha.

This is what should be done
By one who is skilled in goodness,
And who knows the path of peace:
Let them be able and upright,
Straightforward and gentle in speech.
Humble and not conceited,
Contented and easily satisfied.
Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways.
Peaceful and calm, and wise and skillful,
Not proud and demanding in nature.
Let them not do the slightest thing
That the wise would later reprove.
Wishing: In gladness and in saftey,
May all beings be at ease.
Whatever living beings there may be;
Whether they are weak or strong, omitting none,

Today is my nieces 6th Birthday party. However her birthday isn't for 3 days still.

Kevbot lent me some cash (I'm still seeking employment) to buy her a lovely little

Sun dress for her birthday gift. It's really very cute. I'm sure she'll adore it. I've adorned

the wrapping paper with Hannah Montanna stickers. HM is the party "theme". ;)

Today is also the re-vamping and over hauling of my blogsite. A new title and new background.

I'm really very excited. I feel like a part of my life I no longer needed is over and now I'm

emerging into a new more exciting, more "me" life. Whatever me might be.

These days I'm really working hard at being open to many new and exciting concepts and possibilities.

Like seeing the world through new eyes. With new eyes that are viewing everything with a positive and compassionate twist. I feel healthier and happier. And I'm working on making it last for.. well, forever!

~ Back from the depths of.......... college!~

So, basically, I started studying hard for school and eventually lost myself in it.
Sadly I have not blogged in so long. I miss it. I'm coming back to it. I promise.
Now that college is over, which by the way, I passed with the highest mark in
my Medical administrations course. A whopping 95% average, and Honours!
Yes I am proud... ;)

So I am free now and with my new found freedom I plan to get back into my blog.
However, I want to revamp and possibly even rename my blog.. I'm astrong believer
in quantum physics and the power of thought and attraction. Long story short, I feel
that by calling my blog bald girl, I'm inviting the bald to stick around. Which I'm comfortable
with these days, but I'm ready for a change and for my hair to grow back in.
Maybe I'll rename the blog, diary of a very hairy girl? ;) (NOT, that's asking for some weird hairy trouble).
But you get the idea :)

Awe I'm so excited to post a blog!!!!!!! I even missed my own 1 year blog-birthday. ACK!!
Time to get back on track. I've missed you all.

~ A Briefing in the Bald Girl Life.

Last week I celebrated my 28th birthday. That’s always nice, getting older. While I do look forward to joining the 30 club one day. (30’s the new 20). I did kind of feel odd. I’m at an age where when I was younger and my parents turned 30, I thought. “ Oh no they’re going to die soon!!” And I was so serious in that thought. I’d have been 12’ish at that point. Now I’m very close to that age and realizing that I’m so far from dying it’s not even funny. What a Silly idea that was.

I’ve started digging and turning my soil for the garden this year. I plan to post a make shift plan of it for you to view so you can see what’s going where. I think I’m going to make one side specifically herbs and flowers and the other Veggies. Also I’ll be putting a fence up to keep out the dog. And hopefully it will stop other animals (rabbits and deer) from eating my stuff. I don’t mind them eating carrots. I don’t like them much anyways. But my English daisies are off the menu! I want so much more Lavender and chamomile this year! Amongst other neat Herbs. AHHHHH SO EXCITED!

I just got a 94% on my College Document Formatting module. I’m currently standing at a 95% overall average. And today I start power point. I’m guessing I should have a 98% + overall in this too. Power point is easy peasy.

I went to a Lady Gaga Concert in Ottawa. It was awesome! The lady has a lot of energy. And it’s contagious. I know this because from the time the concert started to the moment it ended. I did not stop bouncing around. I danced with my monster paws in the air. The stage sets were great and her costumes were amazing. Like I knew they would be. I’m not a huge pop music person. However, I do follow Lady Gaga, and will continue to do so. <3 Stephanie (Lady Gaga, ‘mother monster’)
Oh here’s something. Does anybody know of an good ambient/ meditate album that sounds like Egypt or Arabian music? It’s hard to explain what I mean. But I really just want to listen to some relaxing tunes from that region of the world. Any suggestions are welcomed :) If you need an idea, Peter Gabriel’s – The Passion album kind of sounds like what I’m imagining.

So I’m waiting very patiently on a friend to come up with an idea for his tattoo, as we are both going to get some work done together. I pretty much have my work drawn up and ready to go. And I must say it looks awesome. I <3 it. And it’s going to be so colorful. It’s Isis, the Anubis and a Scarab. It takes up my whole forearm. The only black in my sleeve will be the Anubis. Which is great because I love all the colour I’m going to have. But I also love that because Anubis is black, he’ll stand out amongst everything else as well. I <3 Anubis. But again I’m not sure when I’ll get it done. Probably in June at this point. I’ll post a photo when I do get it finished. SOOOOOOO EXCITED.

At this very moment I am in class. It’s a Monday morning. The sky is grey and over cast. Good, for the garden. YAY. for rain. Bad for Happiness. I need my vitamin D. I guess I should get back to work. Hope your day is excellent where ever you are in the world :) See you.

Gardening and Ostara

Gardening and Ostara

I walked outside today. I can almost make out my garden from the previous year. There's only a tiny bit of snow left. I'm excited. I'm beyond excited. I tried to take the spade shovel and break the ground. Sadly it's still rock solid. But I think in a couple weeks it should be thawed enough for me to turn over the soil in preparation for this years garden. I plan to introduce a lot more veggies and actually map the garden out carefully and designate one side to flowers and herbs and the other to veggies alone.

Also I'm going to make sure it's as green as possible. I really want get a new composter this year and use my own composts in the future. As well I want a rain barrel to save one water. And then in the future possibly I'd like to start mulching with worms, or whatever that’s called.

I found a second handed book for cheap called “Talking Dirt. The Dirt Diva's Down-to-Earth Guide to Organic Gardening”. By Annie Spiegelman. Its cute and giving me lots of great tips on how to be more organic and green with my garden.

Its funny. I'm sure that to look at me, no one would realize how much I really love my garden. How much time I could spend just sitting in it with my plants. Relaxing amongst the dirt and new life. I don't look like the garden type. But I guess that is the whole 'judging a book by its cover' thing. Ahhhhhhhh I'm going crazy. I want it to be full on spring already. I have an itch and it can only be scratched by my green thumb.

Ostara is almost here as well. I'm an Ostara baby. Perhaps this is part of the reason I feel so excited for this time of the year. I will be 28 on the 26^th of March. Always exciting. Aries my bunny was also an Ostara birth. She came into the world during Ostara and left during Imbolc. But she'll be returned to the ground During Ostara. As soon as the ground can be broken. <3

Again, aaaaaAAaaaHHhHhHhhhh. :) So excited! Just wanted to pop on and share my excitment for gardening with you. Are you excited as well? Do you have a garden you tend to every year? And what's your favorite part of your garden. Feel free to share. I'd love to hear about it :) No doubt there will be many posts from me to come about my garden and its inhabitants... From the plants, the Animals, the gnomes and other magical dwellers. :)

~Mouse in the House

So, we put up some kill traps. I’m not exactly happy with myself right now. But night after night we hear Mice in our ceiling. And months ago I made live traps. But Nothing. Mouse poo and pee are toxic to humans. If it weren’t for that, I’d let the little guys and gals have the run of the place. Well to an extent. I don’t want us to burn down either due to some hungry mousy taking a bite out of a wire in the wall or something. And I also don’t want them just popping up out of nowhere.

Anyways, so the other night we caught a poor mouse in the snappy kill trap. And it did just that. Snapped and killed the poor mousey. I laid him to rest outside by a tree. I felt bad that I allowed him to die. So that night I went to bed and the death of the mouse reminded me of my poor bunny for some reason. So then I was tormented all night. How can one love one animal and not another?

SO I got rid of the kill traps. And what would you know. I was sitting at my computer yesterday morning having coffee. And I heard some strange rustling from the sum pump room. I went in to look and here’s a little mouse in my live trap. I finally got one. And he’s alive and safe and well.

SO in the furnace room is the Snake’s old tank. I’ve put the mouse into it to keep it until I figure out what to do with him/her. It’s cold outside so I don’t want to just throw it out. However, I think I’m going to get a box put together and make it a little nest. Then put it somewhere outside so the mouse can go there, until it finds a new home.

It’s a clever little thing though. He’s been trying to break out of the tank since I put him in there. I’m hoping to catch any more that might be living with us and give him some friends. They can all go out into the world together.

*sigh*

Ok, This month is going to be very busy and exciting! I’ve got a lot of things going on, so I want you to know that I will most likely be blogging a lot more this month then the past couple. Sorry for my lame tardiness. :)

~The adventures of Bald Girl in a non smoking Universe.

Good riddance to you stick of death.
Here's a question though? Why does my breath still smell UGH.
I swear I'm brushing :p

So I did it! I kicked the habit. Snuffed the butt. Smoked my last fag. Took my last breath of cancer stick. and so on and so on.

Yes, I quit smoking. In honour of my late bunny Aries. I think she’d like for me to be healthy, so I can take better care of Che-Lin and kevbot. So yes, the cravings come and go. I think about it every other hour still. But not because I need to have one. But because I’m so used to cigarettes being a part of my everyday life, there are certain things they went hand in hand with. Like after eating, before my morning coffee, with my coffee throughout the day, when I’m bored, Stressed excited... everything. And now that they are gone, when I do any one of those things I automatically feel something is missing. And so now Bald Girl needs to go shopping!

My last yoga ball died, which means so did any chance of Abs. Yay for a new one.

It’s so weird. I know what’s going on. It’s the fact that with Aries gone and cigarettes gone; myself conscious is telling me I’m missing something. That I’ve lost something. And now I have to go and replace it. So I could say, “You’re being silly Bald Girl. Save your money for something important.” But I won’t. Nope ... I want me a new Yoga Ball and backpack for school. Than I can work on my abs and look all cool for school.

I’m at 118.2 Pounds right now. I’m trying to get down to 105’ish. I started at 124’ish (January 1st). I’m hoping the cigarette quitting doesn’t cause any un-necessary weight gain. However I haven’t been eating to replace the cigarettes. So I think I should be ok.

I quit smoking on Feb 18th 2011. So that makes this what? Day 5. This time I would like to quit for good. I have quit before, the last time I made it a year and a half. The only reason I started back up again was out of sheer idiocy. But at least I’ve quit again and now I can do it right this time. And the awesome thing is now I won’t feel like such a hypocrite for polluting the world with cigarette butts, while claiming I love my earth. Now I can feel proud and know that I really am saving my earth some more. <3

SO yes, this is the start of a new Bald girl adventure. One that no longer involves cigarettes. I feel healthier just thinking about it.

The Passing of a Beloved Pet

I’ve never lost a pet before. And so I never knew how devastating this could be.

I’ve heard people talk about losing their pets and it was sad, But I don’t think I truly

understood what they were going through.

Until Now.

My fur-baby Aries passed away on Tuesday tragically. Aries birthday would have been in

March, hence her name. She would have been 3 years old. She was an awesome pet.

In case you’re deciding what kind of animal she was. Aries is a Rabbit. A rabbit that had more

personality then a handful of people I know. She was quirky and stubborn and reminded myself of me.

Only she was softer and way more fun to play around with. I’m sure.

I came home to Aries dead on my living room floor. She bled to death.Poor baby.

I think she has something called VHD, which is a disease bunnies pick up and it causes them to bleed to death. It cannot be cured. So it wasn’t within my power to help her. I just wish I could have been beside her through her passing.

I am heartbroken. As is Kevbot and our Cat Che-lin.

We loved Aries dearly.

She will be missed.

Once the ground unfreezes, I plan to bury Aries in behind my garden, under my weeping mulberry tree.

I will also make her a tiny headstone to mark her teeny tiny grave site.

Envious and jealous of the beauty of a mortal girl named Psyche, Venus asks her son Cupid (known to the Greeks as Eros) to use his golden arrows while Psyche sleeps, so that when she awakens, Venus (Aphrodite to the Greeks) would have already placed a vile creature for her to fall in love with. Cupid finally agrees to her commands after a long (and failed) debate. As he flies to Psyche's room at night, he turns himself invisible so no one can see him fly in through her window. He takes pity on her, for she was born too beautiful for her own safety. As he slowly approaches, careful not to make a sound, he readies one of his golden arrows. He leans over Psyche while she is asleep and before he can scratch her shoulder with the arrow, she awakens, startling him, for she looks right into his eyes, despite his invisibility. This causes him to scratch himself with his arrow, falling deeply in love with her. He cannot continue his mission, for every passing second he finds her more appealing. He reports back to Venus shortly after and the news enrages her. Venus places a curse on Psyche that keeps her from meeting a suitable husband, or any husband at that. As she does this, it upsets Cupid greatly, and he decides as long as the curse stays on Psyche, he will no longer shoot arrows, which will cause Venus' temple to fall.

When all continue to admire and praise Psyche's beauty, but none desire her as a wife, Psyche's parents consult an oracle, which tells them to leave Psyche on the nearest mountain, for her beauty is so great that she is not meant for (mortal) man. Terrified, they have no choice but to follow the oracle's instructions. But then Zephyrus, the west wind, carries Psyche away, to a fair valley and a magnificent palace where she is attended by invisible servants until nightfall, and in the darkness of night the promised bridegroom arrives and the marriage is consummated. Cupid visits her every night to sleep with her, but demands that she never light any lamps, since he does not want her to know who he is until the time is right.After months of no one — man or animal — falling in love, marrying, or mating, the Earth starts to grow old, which causes concern to Venus, for nobody praises her for Cupid's actions. Finally, she agrees to listen to Cupid's demands, according him one thing to have his own way. Cupid desires Psyche. Venus, upset, agrees to his demands only if he begins work immediately. He accepts the offer and takes off, shooting his golden arrows as fast as he can, restoring everything to the way it should be. People again fall in love and marry, animals far and wide mate, and the Earth begins to look young once again.

Psyche then finds herself in the city where one of her jealous elder sisters live. She tells her what had happened, then tricks her sister into believing that Cupid has chosen her as a wife on the mountaintop. Psyche later meets her other sister and deceives her likewise. Each sister goes to the top of the peak and jumps down eagerly, but Zephyrus does not bear them and they fall to their deaths at the base of the mountain.Cupid allows Zephyrus to take Psyche back to her sisters and bring all three down to the palace during the day, but warns that Psyche should not listen to any argument that she should try to discover his true form. The two jealous sisters tell Psyche, then pregnant with Cupid's child, that rumor is that she had married a great and terrible serpent who would devour her and her unborn child when the time came for it to be fed. They urge Psyche to conceal a knife and oil lamp in the bedchamber, to wait till her husband is asleep, and then to light the lamp and slay him at once if it is as they said. Psyche sadly follows their advice. In the light of the lamp Psyche recognizes the fair form on the bed as the god Cupid himself. However, she accidentally pricks herself with one of his arrows, and is consumed with desire for her husband. She begins to kiss him, but as she does, a drop of oil falls from her lamp onto Cupid's shoulder and wakes him. He flies away, and she falls from the window to the ground, sick at heart.

Psyche searches far and wide for her lover, finally stumbling into a temple where everything is in slovenly disarray. As Psyche is sorting and clearing the mess, Ceres (Demeter to the Greeks) appears, but refuses any help beyond advising Psyche that she must call directly on Venus, who caused all the problems in the first place. Psyche next calls on Juno in her temple, but Juno gives her the same advice. So Psyche finds a temple to Venus and enters it. Venus then orders Psyche to separate all the grains in a large basket of mixed kinds before nightfall. An ant takes pity on Psyche, and with its ant companions, separates the grains for her.

However, once Psyche has left the Underworld, she decides to open the box and take a little bit of the beauty for herself. Inside, she can see no beauty; instead an infernal sleep arises from the box and overcomes her. Cupid (Eros), who had forgiven Psyche, flies to her, wipes the sleep from her face, puts it back in the box, and sends her back on her way. Then Cupid flies to Mount Olympus and begs Jupiter (Zeus) to aid them. Jupiter calls a full and formal council of the gods and declares that it is his will that Cupid marry Psyche. Jupiter then has Psyche fetched to Mount Olympus, and gives her a drink made from ambrosia, granting her immortality. Begrudgingly, Venus and Psyche forgive each other.Venus, furious at Psyche's survival, claims that the stress of caring for her son, made depressed and ill as a result of Psyche's lack of faith, has caused her to lose some of her beauty. Psyche is to go to the Underworld and ask the queen of the Underworld, Proserpina (Persephone to the Greeks), to place a bit of her beauty in a box that Venus had given to Psyche. Psyche decides that the quickest way to the Underworld is to throw herself off some high place and die, and so she climbs to the top of a tower. But the tower itself speaks to Psyche and tells her the route that will allow her to enter the Underworld alive and return again, as well as telling her how to get past Cerberus (by giving the three-headed dog a small cake); how to avoid other dangers on the way there and back; and most importantly, to eat nothing but coarse bread in the underworld, as eating anything else would trap her there forever. Psyche follows the orders precisely, rejecting all but bread while beneath the Earth.

Psyche and Cupid have a daughter, called Voluptas (Hedone in Greek mythology), the goddess of "sensual pleasures", whose Latin name means "pleasure" or "bliss".

Well wasn't that Informative. You know I really like mythology.But I feel It's a shame that this story has become partner to Valentines Day. Only because of the commercialization. The day where everyone rushes out to spend oodles of money on their

special someone to prove their love to them. Honestly people should put away their wallets and just tell

their partners how much they love and respect them on a regular basis. You shouldn't need a day to do it. Just do it everyday. But with less chocolate. And expensive flowers. Just pick some from a field. Trust me, (s)he'll still love em :)

So the bald girl got a new snazzy wig. I’m calling it my Bohemian Goddess or Egyptian queen wig.

Its really cute. Kind of like a really dark bob. When summer gets here and I walk around in huge bug eye shades, I’ll look like a model. Move over Kate Moss, I’m the new hottest thing! And don’t worry, I won’t hog all your blow.. This bald girl is naturally high. Bring on the Cat walk and Calvin Klein (Eew not really, I’m more a parasuco gal, when I can afford it ;) ) .

So yes, new shiny Off-black bob do.

Other things with me right now.

A 96% on my Excel module. My overall is 94%. So excited! I’m Feeling healthy, thanks to the veganism, and generally happy. I have no complaints. Not this week so far anyways.

On Friday I have a German Sparkle party at my friend Casey’s house. Basically you dress up in super shiny clothes, go have a drink and hand out, well and Dancy dance. So that should be a fun time. I’ve been working on creating a shiny top hat. Its miniature. I’ll bobby pin it to my bob and look awesome. I’ve also bought sequins to sew onto something un-suspecting. I’m going to look so fun.

The next day I’ve decided to do some renovations to two separate houses. Never a dull moment for bald girl! I tell ya. Actually if you could some work I’ll be doing before casey’s party, I’m reno’ing three houses! Oh joy, oh bliss.

Anyways so this isn’t me, but this is a photo of my new do, only in black and not white.

I blame college. And home work. And my inability to devote myself an hour a day to update my blog.

What can I say? I'm terrible.

But I hope to get back into the swing of things. I'm going to clean off my desk and get everything neat and organized. I'll put up little post its reminding me to blog. Because I miss it.

I've also been very busy with my new diet and my random activism projects. There just isn't enough time during the day I swear.

Anyways... So my story is the same old, same old. I'm swamped with school work and super poor. Awe the life of a student.

But a lot of neat things have been happening in my life lately and I plan to update and write about them. Just not right now ;)

Yesterday was my younger sisters 26th Birthday. We went to dinner and then to a pool hall. I'm feeling pretty rough today. And haven't done anything basically. I hope She had a great time though! :) My sister is awesome.

So I just finised my MicroSoft Office Word Quiz for Chapters 3 & 4.

These chapters are long, 2 weeks and only 4 chapters covered.

This is actually my Level 1 module. Monday I start MircoSoft Excel.

WHich I'm certain I will not take much pleasure in. But I think I'm doing

okay. I'm trying for honours. I really want to graduate with honours

to prove something to myself. Basically I need an average of 70%, to

graduate at all. And An average in every class of 90%, with out any

test marks being below 65%.

I am at 88%, which I need to pick up. And I will. If not, all isn't

completely lost. But It'll be a let down for sure.

Anyways Tomorrow is my Exam for this Module. Good Ridence MS Office.

Until February when I do level 2. *groan*

Oh and before i forget to mention, I joined Student Council. CRAZY!

If you knew me as a student (In HIGH school) you know this is not

likely of me to persue. Notice how the word HIGH is in caps. Cause

that was me. I was that stoner chick out in the play yard during breaks.

And at Lunch. Ugh, Fail.

Sooo Other than Schooling. Not much is happening in my life right now.

I'm reading some good books. One is A game of Thrones and the other is

Vegan Freak.

Which speaking of, I have to say my new vegan lifestyle is going over

exceptionally well. My body feels great. I've lost nearly 5 pounds.

And morally I feel happy.

So thats always awesome.

Sadly, I have a headache right this moment though. I have a sneaky suspision

that the 3 cups of coffee I had already today are the culprit. I really should give

coffee up. But its one of those pleasures I can't bare to part with right this moment.

BUT I have started drinking decaf during the day and only caffinated in

the very morning. Also I now drink it black, no sweetners or Creams of any sort.

It's not bad.

So February 5th I will be hosting my Valentines Day giveaway.

Anyways I should get back to doing some sort of "work".

It's Now 2011.

Now I'm not lying when I say this is 'my' year.

The Year of Jaimie or of the Me.

Last night I went to my brothers for New Years.

My amazing, closest friends, with the exception of my sister and parents were

there and it was great.

I drank club soda all night, then had some bubbly (ha, Bambino) at 12.

I'm still working on the no drinking thing.

But one glass with everyone on NYE is acceptable even in my books.

So with my NYE Resolutions in mind I woke up and made my coffee with Blue Agave

sugar and Silk Soy Coffee "creamer".

I've not had a cigarette yet.

And I'm not going Nuckin Futs over it either..

I wish everyone could feel how excited I

am over the prospect of getting healthier this year.

I hope you feel just as passionate towards your goals as well.

Anyways Heres to us all and our quest in 2011

Last night was kevbots step-father's birthday. Everyone went out for dinner and a few drinks.

We ended up playing darts at the local watering hole. My younger brother wanted to come hang out for the night. So along came he, into the mix.

It was probably around 1 am when I got to bed last night. Kevbot and Gary were still up into the night.

I do remember waking up at 4:30 am to go for a pee. The bathroom light was on and the door locked. I un-locked the door and here's someone passed out on my bathroom floor. I'm guessing the poison(Alcohol) was not agreeing with their tummy at some point. I'm not naming names on who it was lol. But I've seen this person on two other bathroom floors. So this was not a surprise. *sigh* I wish I could just not care. And end up trashed on my bathroom floor. But I fear those days are over, I enjoy being in control of my body to much right now. But there was a time. Oh the memories ;)

Anyways needless to say waking up and having to go upstairs to Grandma's bathroom instead had me awake for a bit and now my brain is kinda tired. I feel like a zombie. Which, regardless, is probably not nearly as bad as my boyfriend and brother are feeling... SUCKERS!

Anyways on with the show and on with my actual Blog post.

Soooo yes, I made resolutions on the witches new Year (Samhain) but since the rest the world is moving on a different calendar. I figure I'll post more Resolutions today.

As you read in a prior blog about the book Skinny Bitch, I plan on becoming a vegan. I'm full on prepared to dive into veganism and not look back. I still have a lot of food in my cupboards that I don't want to waste since I'm hard up for cash and spent good money on it. But as soon as it empties out, I'll be replacing it with vegan products and organics. Kevbots going to continue to eat flesh. And that's cool. I have no problems with that. Veganism is my personal choice and not something I want to push on anyone else. That means there will still be Meat on my Grocery List.... Just not for me.

Next up, lose some weight. Which with the new diet should come naturally on a level. When you stop drinking stuff with refined sugars and stick to self squeezed (I have a juice man pro) fruit and veggie juices and teas. You end up shaving a bit off your hips. Or I'd like to think so.

I have some neat work out vids I got for X-mas that will also help me snap my body back into shape. Two are Belly dancing Videos, One is Burlesque and the other is Hip hop dance. I love to dance and move around. It'll be so nice to start again. I haven't just danced in a very long time. I miss it.

Next up, QUIT SMOKING. I stink, my lungs are black. I hate the feeling of headaches and dizziness associated with cigarettes. I just hate cigarettes, and my body does as well. But I'm so addicted. I've been smoking since I was 13. That's 15 years. Which is a massive amount of damage done. I need to stop. I will stop. This is my year.! Screw you Nicotine. I'm taking control of my body and no longer being a slave to your oppressive addictive chemicals. I have the Power of ~~Greyskull~~ Determination.

So other than My general Health Resolutions I am left with one other HUGE resolution.

To Graduate College in June. And not just Graduate, I want to graduate at the top of my class. That's a lot of hard work. In order to succeed I need an average of 70%, no lower. Lower = Fail / No graduation. I want to be in the 90 to 95% mark average. Or even higher if I can.

Which is so odd since I never gave two hoots in High school what my marks were. Not a care in the world. It's funny how we can change as we get older and your priorities shift.

Anyways so I've shown you mine, now you show me yours. Thats how this game works.

I'll periodically blog how My resolutions are going for anyone who truly cares. :)

So Kevbot was awesome enough to Buy me a Kobo ebook reader for X-mas this year. It came with 101 Classic reads, such as The wizard in Oz and pride and prejudice, etc etc..

SO I decided to go forth and grab a couple more reads. I downloaded 2 so far, well one was free [ The Communist manifesto] off the Kobo Site and one I bought.

The one I purchased was called Skinny Bitch. The description is 'A no-nonsense, tough-love guide for savvy girls who want to stop eating crap and start looking fabulous!'

First off Let me just say I'm only 33% done the book. I know this cause kobo keeps track of what I've read. Neat! Anyways I started reading it last night and through out the day today. This book has totally made me want to clean out my fridge, freezer and cupboards. I feel like I was just slapped in the face. Never have I been so creep'd out over the food I am eating. I share lot of the same views and opinions as this book. But there are things in here, with proof, I had no clue about.
I'm actually kinda scared of the damage I've probably already done to myself.
I can't give an official review until I've finished this book. But it's shaping up to be very informative.
I suggest you pick a copy up however. I think it will change your life. I know it's changing mine already.

Twas the night before ~~Christmas~~ Yule, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy ~~Christmas~~ Yuletide to all, and to all a good-night!"

And so my Yule has started.

Officially it is December 21st.. 12:51 am.

I am awaiting the Lunar Eclipse that will be happening at

2:40 am.

This is apparently the first, The Winter Solstice has been met with a Lunar Eclipse, in over 300 years.

And it won't happen again until approx 2094. I will not be alive then, well not in this form anyways.

So this is exciting for me. The Sky is clouded over, how ever I can see the goddess' beauty shining through only just barely. It's enough.

Tomorrow I will light my candle on my Yule log and keep it going for 12 nights.

I will be sure to post a Photo for you to peek at.

Because I'm pretty sure the after hours clinic I just took a trip to said "FOR LEASE" on the window.
And it sure was black in there.

K so first off. I have infections in my left index and middle fingers. My poor family cat, Nistlerooy, has been having some health issues and yesterday we had to take him to the vet. They had to give him a shot and administer some sleeping gas to him so they could insert a catheter. Well when he woke up he was not happy at all. Needless to say I now have two incredibly deep puncture marks on my fingers from some very sharp teeth. Literally my own fat was oozing out of my finger...yum yum.
This morning I woke up and they were swollen, sore, red, hot and hardly movable.
Apparently cat bites can lead to some really nasty infections so I opted to go get a antibiotic shot tonight to save myself from a lot of issues in the next coming days.

Since its past normal doctor office hours, and well, they wouldn't see me anyways with out waiting on a month or more long list for an appointment. I decided to go to the after hours clinic.
When I got there, and its all snowy and gross out. We're in for a big storm apparently. It was closed. But not just closed for the night.. i mean like CLOSED DOWN.
Ok so I'm thinking "well that sucks, I guess I'll go to the other one." Its closed on Fridays, wtf? So I walk across the street to look at the Emergency waiting room and its PACKED. No way am I sitting beside the girl with the SARS mask on for 6 hours, while waiting to get my fingers checked out. Honestly.
I hate big hospitals. Because if you were ok going in, you won't when you come out. Holy petri-dish, germ cesspool batman. I've heard stories. Like my sisters, sister in law. (Yes it one of these, this person said that this person's aunts, mom had....) Anyways, My sister's, sister in law Cindy's, sister in law Kim. Had breast cancer. She went in for surgery and came out with flesh eating disease. This is why I hate big hospitals.
SO I said no way.
Theres another after hours clinic (which might be closed as well, who knows)and another hospital (With bigger waiting lines then the one I just went to). But at this point I don't want to be driving around in the slush and snow any more, it's danger town out there. SO basically I came home and got on here to vent.
I'm pounding around my keyboard with my wounded fingers.

Here's my question... I know that I fork out a lot in tax money and never see it back.
I'm not getting an HST or GST check. And apparently I didn't pay out enough last year and so I'm forking out 800$ of my own cash to Income tax.
So where is my money going?
I honestly would like to know. Because one of my clinics is closed right down, and others are just not functioning when they should be. I deserve to have my fingers taken care of so I can go back out into the world and make the government more F**King Money.

SO the money that was going into them. Whats it going to now?? Whatever it is I want to take full advantage of it. Since my health care has gone to sh*t.

Anyways, as for me. What kind of witch would I be if I couldn't think up ways to cure my own ailments.
I'm going to soak my fingers in warm water and Epsom salts. I've been washing my hands and then putting antiseptic on them.
I also think I will wrap them up in a homemade antiseptic salve... not sure what all I will put in it, but aloe and witch hazel with def be there.
Hopefully it helps until I can get some real help. As I'm sure the infection has already made it into my blood stream by now...
C'mon Antibodies, do your thing. :)

A friend had asked who and what is wikileaks so I'll provide a little bit of info here.

WikiLeaks is an international new media non-profit organisation that publishes submissions of otherwise unavailable documents from anonymous news sources and leaks. Its website, launched in 2006, is run by The Sunshine Press.^[2] Within a year of its launch, the site claimed a database that had grown to more than 1.2 million documents.^[5] The organisation has described itself as having been founded by Chinese dissidents, as well as journalists, mathematicians, and start-up company technologists from the United States, Taiwan, Europe, Australia, and South Africa.^[2] The Guardian newspaper describes Julian Assange, an Australian Internet activist, as its director.^[6]

In April 2010, WikiLeaks posted video from a 2007 incident in which Iraqi civilians and journalists were killed by U.S. forces, on a website called Collateral Murder. In July of the same year, WikiLeaks released Afghan War Diary, a compilation of more than 76,900 documents about the War in Afghanistan not previously available for public review.^[12] In October, the group released a package of almost 400,000 documents called the Iraq War Logs in coordination with major commercial media organisations. In November 2010, WikiLeaks began releasing U.S. State department diplomatic cables.

WikiLeaks was originally launched as a user-editable wiki site, but has progressively moved towards a more traditional publication model, and no longer accepts either user comments or edits.
